Specialized Manufacturing

Our capabilities extend beyond equipment to support highly specialized manufacturing requirements:

  • Tolerances and precision – Kozak produces components with sub-micron resolution, which is not commonly found in direct drive hardware. Our fine thread adjustment screws exceed the 3a-3b thread class by 45% for imperial sizes, and metric adjusters exceed the 6g-6H thread class by 45%.

  • Materials – Standard materials include 303 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel (for high-vacuum applications), 360 HO2 brass, and 510 phosphor bronze. Screws are often supplied with a 53 HRC hardened steel ball tip. For custom applications, we have successfully machined “gummy” materials like titanium, as well as thermally stable alloys like Invar36 paired with silver-coated bushings for low-temperature cryogenics. We are capable of manufacturing both metal and plastic components.

  • Thread types – The shop specializes in fine and ultra-fine adjustment screws. Imperial thread counts range from 40 to 508 threads per inch (TPI), with specific matched sets offered in 80, 100, 127, 200, 254, and 508 TPI. Metric thread options include 0.25 mm and 0.20 mm pitches (such as M2, M2.5, and M3 sizes), as well as a “world’s first” 0.10 mm pitch adjuster. We can also accommodate custom thread variations, lengths, and custom tips (blunt or coned).

Inspection and Quality Assurance

When working with us, you can expect a high level of attention to detail at each stage of production. From initial review to shipment, each part undergoes detailed, hands-on inspection to ensure consistency and reliable performance. This commitment to quality is reflected in the following processes:

  • Standards and compliance – Our quality assurance program is compliant with MIL-I-45208A requirements, allowing us to meet and exceed the stringent standards required by our ISO-certified clients.

  • Traceability and certification – We maintain quality control with full traceability for our products. We also provide material certificates upon customer request, and our high-vacuum 304 stainless steel screws are passivated with available certifications.

  • Production inspectionFor custom orders, our team requires a dimensioned drawing before manufacturing. During production, this submitted drawing is used strictly for inspection to guarantee all parts are made to the exact specifications.

  • Post-production – Once a batch of parts passes inspection, they are carefully cleaned, dried, and packed before being shipped to the customer.
